Carlo Cici has more than 30 years of experience in integrating Sustainable Development into the companies’ core business through Strategy, Reporting, Engagement, Communication and Social Impact Assessment. As of today, he is head of The European House – Ambrosetti’s sustainability practice. Before joining The European House – Ambrosetti he worked at Arthur Andersen, Deloitte, Rga and EY. For 8 years he was professor of Environmental Policy and then of Environmental and Social Communication at State University of Milan.

Professor of Economic Statistics at the University of Rome “Tor Vergata”, he teaches Public Management at LUISS Guido Carli University. He served as Minister for Sustainable Infrastructures and Mobility in the Draghi Cabinet from February 2021 to October 2022, and is Co-Founder and Scientific Director of the Italian Alliance for Sustainable Development (ASViS). He previously served as Spokesperson of Minister of Labor and Social Policies (April 2013-Feb. 2014), President of the Italian Statistical Institute – ISTAT (2009-2013), and Chief Statistician at the OECD (2001-2009).

Professore ordinario di Statistica Economica all’Università di Roma “Tor Vergata” e docente di Public Management all’Università LUISS Guido Carli. Già Ministro delle Infrastrutture e della mobilità sostenibili nel Governo Draghi dal febbraio 2021 ad ottobre 2022, è Co-fondatore e Direttore Scientifico dell’Alleanza Italiana per lo Sviluppo Sostenibile (ASviS). In precedenza è stato Ministro del Lavoro e delle Politiche Sociali (aprile 2013-febbraio 2014); Presidente dell’Istituto Nazionale di Statistica – ISTAT (2009-2013); Chief Statistician dell’OCSE (2001-2009).

Laura D’Aprile is the Head of the Department for Sustainable Development of MASE, with expertise in the field of circular economy, environmental assessments, remediation of contaminated sites, management of water and soil resources, sustainability of products and consumption. She has been Head of the Department for Ecological Transition and Green Investments and Director General for the Circular Economy at the Ministry of the Environment since September 2020. Previously, she was Director of the Waste, Remediation and Pollution Directorate of the Department of Environmental Protection of Roma Capitale, manager of Division III Reclamation and Remediation at the Ministry of the Environment and Protection of Land and Sea and head of the Contaminated Sites Sector of ISPRA. She has been appointed chair of the environment track for the Italian Presidency of the G20 in 2021 and for the Italian Presidency of the G7 in 2024. She was coordinator of the group of experts appointed within the Commission for the revision of the Italian Environmental Legislation. She is the author and co-author of scientific and technical publications and has given numerous speeches at seminars and conferences, including at international level. She graduated in Environmental Engineering and obtained a PhD in Environmental Engineering from the University of Rome “La Sapienza”. As part of his PhD, she carried out research activities in the field of environmental engineering, with periods of study abroad (Battelle Institute, Columbus, OH, Washington State University, WA). She holds a Master’s Degree in “Behavioral Sciences for Public Administrations” from SNA-LUISS. She is a consultant to the Parliamentary Commission of Inquiry on the Waste Cycle. She is a representative of the MASE of the Italian Meteo-Climate Committee. She was awarded the Order of Merit of the Italian Republic with the rank of Ufficiale.

Laura D’Aprile è Capo dipartimento per lo Sviluppo Sostenibile del MASE, con competenze in materia di economia circolare, valutazioni ambientali, bonifica dei siti contaminati, gestione delle risorse idriche e del suolo, sostenibilità dei prodotti e dei consumi. È stata Capo del Dipartimento per la Transizione ecologica e gli investimenti verdi e Direttore Generale per l’Economia Circolare presso il Ministero dell’ambiente da settembre 2020. In precedenza, è stata Direttore della Direzione rifiuti, risanamenti ed inquinamenti del Dipartimento di Tutela ambientale di Roma Capitale, dirigente della Divisione III Bonifiche e Risanamento presso il Ministero dell’Ambiente e della Tutela del Territorio e del mare e responsabile del Settore Siti Contaminati dell’ISPRA. È stata designata chair del track ambiente per la Presidenza Italiana del G20 nel 2021 e per la Presidenza Italiana del G7 nel 2024. È coordinatore del gruppo degli esperti nominati nell’ambito della Commissione per la revisione del codice dell’ambiente. È autrice e co-autrice di pubblicazioni scientifiche e tecniche e ha tenuto numerosi interventi nell’ambito di seminari e convegni anche in ambito internazionale. Ha conseguito la laurea in Ingegneria per l’Ambiente e il Territorio ed il Dottorato di Ricerca in Ingegneria Ambientale presso l’Università degli Studi di Roma “La Sapienza”. Ha svolto, nell’ambito del dottorato, attività di ricerca nel campo dell’ingegneria ambientale, con periodi di studio all’estero. Ha conseguito il Master di II Livello SNA-LUISS in “Scienze Comportamentali per le Pubbliche Amministrazioni”. È consulente della Commissione Parlamentare d’Inchiesta del Ciclo dei Rifiuti. È rappresentante del MASE del Comitato Italiano Meteo-Clima. È stata insignita dell’Ordine al Merito della Repubblica Italiana con il grado di Ufficiale.
